Congress has set a limit of 65,000 for most H-1B workers for fiscal year 2010. It appears that USCIS will employ a lottery system similar to the past few years. Hence, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, the H-1B filing period for employment for fiscal year 2010 (October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010) will begin.

January 5, 2008
Beginning February 2, 2009,  employers must begin using the revised Form I-9 for all new hires and to verify any employee with expiring employment authorization, effective February 2, 2009.  Employers must complete a Form I-9 for all newly hired employees to verify their identity and authorization to work in the United States.
