Intellectual Property  -  Patents • Trademarks • Copyrights • Trade Secrets

Securing your intellectual property rights in the U.S. is essential for any company that is looking to have U.S. and global presence. U.S. law offers several advantages such as the availability of provisional patent registration and longer copyright terms.

It is also important to confirm trademark registration for brands that are registered outside the U.S. to prevent brand conflicts between your foreign brand and those registered in the U.S.

Our associated attorneys have close familiarity with varied business practices in a wide range of business fields.

Sarbane-Oxley

Generally, under Sarbane-Oxley laws, your company may have to document and be able to demonstrate the flow of financial information throughout your organization. This documentation should be easy to understand for a person outside of the organization and be readily available.

It is important to remember that under Sarbane-Oxley all companies including smaller and foreign companies may have to meet strict reporting and accounting mandates. Some foreign companies, however, may be exempt from all or some of the provision in deference to the home law of the foreign company. It is important for a foreign company to confirm the actual requirements so as not to waste time and resources on documentation that is not necessary.

Employment Law & Human Resources (HR)

If you plan to hire part-time or full-time employees, freelancers or sub-contractors you must take into account various federal and state employment law provisions that may be applicable in your situation. We will help you assess your employment law issues and where necessary implement employment contracts, benefit plans, stock options, non-compete and no-solicitation agreements.
